. it's been a very wet weekend, unfortunately. areas like louisiana and eastern texas, we've had snow this weekend, actually. lubbock up towards amarillo and north texas, this storm will be the one that's going move up the eastern seaboard, mostly as a big rain event starting today through tomorrow into wednesday morning. the backside of that, though, could have a little bit of snow. so as far as the radar goes this morning, rain still falling in areas of louisiana. now it's getting heavier in areas of mississippi. as the storm tracks pretty much an inland track up through central new england, the back side of the storm should have a little bit of snow. we're talking ohio possibly western new york. you could end up with white stuff tomorrow into tomorrow night. for today, we're pretty good in the east coast, just a lot of rain in the deep south. that's a look at your national forecast. now here is a look at the weather outside your window. rally, north carolina, beautiful day today. in the mid 50s with a lot of sunshine. boston, mid 40s is pretty nice. it will be windy this morning be

's entrenched from the northern plains down through colorado. it's snowing in west texas, from abilene, to lubbock, and new mexico, albuquerque up to santa fe is getting nailed. albuquerque still got some moderate snow and the winter storm warnings covering pretty much the state of new mexico. as we go for a drive, not even that far outside of the dallas-ft. worth area that we're starting to see the change from rain to snow, from midland out through abilene and north, up to wichita falls, you'll see some snowflakes. here's the cold air. the wind chill this morning is minus 7 here in nebraska. it's the opposite on the east coast. if anything your biggest weather concern is fog this morning, a lot of dense fog in southern new england, down outside of new york city, philadelphia and d.c. so be careful driving with that. there's no wind chill at all for the east coast. so enjoy it, probably a day or two more of this. temperatures, 80s in florida, 70s up through the carolinas, 60s from d.c. new york city near 60. the cold air entrenched, minneapolis to chicago. down in areas of texas today.

of buffalo and light showers in texas. again, we're going to see big time changes and all because of this low pressure system across the southwest that is starting to bring in light showers across the phoenix area and parts of the southern california. as we head into tonight and tomorrow, this system is going to get its act together and pulling a lot of moisture and cold air. we'll start to look at potential blizzard conditions for northeast new mexico all the way up to western portions of kansas. we do have advisories issued with a lot of snow in the forecast for those areas, that includes the texas panhandle and oklahoma panhandle up to 18 inches of snow could fall. of course, with a blizzard it's not the amount of snow but the winds and those cold temperatures. wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour. very significant blowing and drifting. there are a number of blizzard watches across northeast new mexico and oklahoma panhandle and with the same storm system on the warm side of it, very strong thunderstorms with potential for severe weather across texas and also parts of southwestern louisiana
also are fortunate to have another former house member to move my colleague, charlie stenholm of texas was probably had more than a passing interest on the subject. and i'm sure he will help as we start this discussion. let's go to john who's moderating it today. john, the floor is yours. >> i'm going to say a few things now but i'm going to turn to david and aaron for more substantive remarks and there was a something in the end as well. what we are hoping to do today is really just look at where we are in redistricting. a process we do every 10 years. we are not done yet. we are certainly well along the way, but a number of states are done, some are not quite yet even released their plans, and many are under challenge or there's some question as to what the final plan will look like. what we would like to do is get a sense of how it's going to benefit republicans and democrats, where the seats have moved, where the mighty competitive seats or not, what is income and protection, a question of creating majority minority districts. where the whole set of issues we want to get a landscap
, north florida and south georgia. and more snow in colorado and west texas, believe it or not, and even into new mexico there are some problems that you can't see, one of them is the strong winds going on in southern california. 60-mile-an-hour to 75-mile-per-hour santa ana winds that knocked over trees and trucks as well. what surprised us there were 98-mile-per-hour wind gusts in ventura county and we did not expect that. as far as the snow go, coming out of denver, moving into west texas, we had big total, three feet of snow west of denver, 10 or 11 inches in albuquerque new mexico. and now abilene texas has the potential of picking up a white christmas for the first time in years and years. i guess it was the '80s since they had it. these strong storms caused unusual tornado, one in alabama and one in georgia. david kerley is standing by in some of the worst damage right there in calhoun, georgia, where there's debris everywhere. good morning, david. >> reporter: sam, believe it or not, this was a house yesterday. but that powerful storm raked right across alabama and here in georgi
